“Finally a rain boot cover that really is simple to put on and off. I used to use the “Totes” brand but even with the zipper, you had to first figure out which one was the right or left and then pull until it was over your boots. I found walking in them almost like not having them on. The traction is excellent for when you have to put your foot down on wet pavement.”

“There is no left or right to deal with and they slide on real slick even if your boots or sneakers are wet. They work well to keep your feet warm when it’s cold and the material is tough too so you won’t have to buy a new pair after every tour. They fold up small enough in your bags so you will still have room for more stuff. Treds are definitely the way to go and I won’t leave home without them.”

“I hardly noticed that I had the boots on when walking (and in fact, they seem to give you more traction) and only noticed a slight difference in the feel on the footpeg or under the shift lever. They also seem to give a better feel for the road when stopped in traffic or at a stoplight; this helps when the roads are wet and slippery. The boots have a cross-tread pattern underneath that helps give traction, and although I didn’t measure the thickness of the bottom of the boots, they seem like they will provide excellent wear.”

Doug Taylor – December 2007
I have taken the time to come back to your website to praise the quality and versatility of your motorcycle Treds. They are splendidly designed with the wide top and remarkable industrial quality two position snaps to fit a smaller or larger leg. It’s practical and clever that the boots and snaps are designed in order to fit either foot. With the top unsnapped and rolled over, they are relatively easy on and easy off (no need to think of getting a larger size than recommended).

Since my purchase, I have carried them with my raingear (which also includes a commendable compact pair of nylon boot covers). The Treds have earned their keep. When anticipating Florida down pores on the way to work, or when getting caught in one on weekend rides, there is nothing in the world that can compare. They fit nice, look good, allow unimpeded heal or toe shifting. They are rugged and non slip when straddling the bike at a light, or getting off and walking comfortably about. Most importantly they have always kept me absolutely 100% dry!!

All of the above has been said in one review or another but what has not been said in any that I have seen when researching my purchase is the fact that though they have never caused me any heat build up or sweating in summer weather, they saved our Christmas three day round trip from Orlando, FL to Alexandria, LA by being a cold weather savior. For the last number of hours on the first leg it was dark, cold (at or just above freezing) and had been raining earlier. We had gotten into the rain gear a few hours earlier because of the light rain and the threat of perhaps more. We had then left it on while the temperatures plummeted, as the rain gear was a great extra wind breaking and insulating layer over the vests and leathers. I, in continuing in my Treds, had absolutely toasty feet.

At a gas stop 20 miles from the Mississippi River, my Lady was done for: her feet were as cold as bricks. It was affecting her whole body and as a result, the rest of her was cold, shivering, and miserable. We warmed up, sucked it up, and then slipped my pair of Treds over her Harley boots and got back on the road. I had almost not taken the boots to minimizing room but instinctively knew better – besides, with one boot stowed inside the other and the pair then collapsed over, they actually fold down to where they can be laid under other items or flexibly stuffed around them. Ultimately they probably take up less room than half of a squashed down paper towel role (isn’t life just full of interesting choices and potential compromises?). My feet basically remained ok in good leather boots. I could feel the cold side of the leather but with my two pair of thermal socks and Canadian blood it was ‘just a thing’.

The thick natural latex of the Treds had been for me, and was now for her, acting like a fat lined walrus skin, breaking the wind and insulating it from reaching the inner layers. My Lady continued the ride with no more frozen toes and ice bricks for feet. We reached our destination probably three hours later in below freezing weather. She arrived in great shape, with warm feet, and a buoyant attitude. There were also not any problems with cold feet on the ride home when we started out at first light on Christmas day at 27 degree F.

We used them again for her at night through the Florida panhandle in 30 degree weather. It was a 1735 mile winter round trip with 908 miles done on Christmas day (just had to stop off in New Orleans) that owes its uccess in part to Treds and the unsung versatility of their fine product.
